Many people try to get rid of moles on their body from cosmetic reasons as a skin mole makes your appearance unsightly. It is always in your best interest to approach a dermatologist for getting the mole removed. Proper inspection of mole is required in order to rule out any skin related disease. Moles, which frequently change in color, size or shape, may signify some serious issue.

After ruling out any dangers, the dermatologist will propose various alternative treatment that you can be used on your skin to get the job done. The most prevalent methods are removal through shaving, surgical excision or laser treatment. None of these method guarantees removal of mole without formation of scar. But you can use certain tips and precautions to make sure that scarringis minimum after mole removal.

You must in all circumstances follow the directions of your dermatologist regarding the aftercare of wound. It is important that you take care of your skin after the treatment as guided by your doctor.

Many dermatologists advise to keep the stitches covered to eliminate any chances of infection after the procedure. Covering the area will also avoid any uncalled for chafing. Not covering the wound may extend the healing period.

Moisturize the skin- Doctor may recommend some moisturizer to use around the affected area. It is being said that having dry skin makes your body more prone toformation of scars. Make sure to only use the moisturizer recommended by your doctor.

In many cases doctors also recommend use of creams specializing in scar treatment. These creams can also be found in nearby pharmacies as over the counter product. Most scar prevention creams use organic or natural ingredients. For application of cream, you can follow the directions as mentioned on the label. Normally these creams are used for 10-15 days after the treatment

Massaging the effected area on alternate days (or daily if possible) will help increase the blood flow in the area around the wound. An increased blood circulation will be very helpful as it make sure that essential minerals and nutrients reach the target area. Massaging for few minutes daily can help you great deal in minimizing the chances of scarring.

After the treatment you should ensure proper protection from sun to the effected area. Using sunscreen becomes mandatory at this point in time. The harmful UV rays of sun can cause damage to your skin and may also fuel the scar formation process. Excessive exposure to sun can also delay the healing process.

To prevent scarring, some people have claimed that Appling Vitamin E topically on the effected area works very effectively. You can buy vitamin e capsules from local stores and puncture the capsule. Then apply it over the area where their was mole.

If none of the above works for you, and scar starts to appear on the place of mole, you should get in touch with a good dermatologist to get more guidance in this issue. He should be able to provide many treatment options for this condition.
